Fees and account deposits
Separate trading costs, Solana network fees, and refundable account deposits.
The amount you trade or deposit is not your only cost. A useful transaction review shows each category independently.
| Cost | Paid in | What happens to it |
|---|---|---|
| Pool trading fee | The input token | 10% protocol retention, then the remainder to LPs and configured beneficiaries |
| Optional hook output fee | The output token | Deducted under the pool's cap and paid to its declared recipient |
| Solana network fee | SOL | Pays for the transaction, including any selected priority fee |
| Account deposit, often called rent | SOL | Funds a new on-chain account; recoverable only when that account supports closure and is closed |
The Pool 6 source increment retains 10% of the trading fee for the protocol. Creator or partner shares come from the remainder and require configured beneficiaries. See Fees and revenue.
Pool and hook fees
The pool configuration sets its fee allocation. A supported hook can choose a dynamic input fee within the pool's ceiling or request an allowed output fee. Rates can differ across pools and over time. Check the quote and the amount you will receive after output fees.
For an illustrative 10-unit trading fee, the protocol retains 1 unit. A 70% LP share of the remaining 9 units allocates 6.3 to LPs and 2.7 to beneficiaries. The 70/30 split is an example, not a required configuration; actual amounts use integer token atoms and rounding. Fee accounting explains the exact rules.
Network fees are separate
Solana charges transaction fees to the fee payer. A failed on-chain transaction can still incur that fee. A priority fee is a network cost, not additional income for the pool or a promise that the transaction will succeed. See Solana's fee documentation.
Rent is an account deposit
Creating a token account or position may lock SOL as a rent-exempt balance. It is not a trading fee or a recurring charge on each swap. Some deposits can be recovered when an eligible account closes; shared pool storage does not automatically close when you exit a position. The required balance depends on account size and network parameters. See Solana accounts.
