Create a pool
Choose a market path, starting price, fee allocation, and initial liquidity before creating a market.
Creating a pool establishes a market between two supported tokens. It does not create demand, establish a fair valuation, or automatically provide all the liquidity needed for trading. Token issuance and market creation are separate operations.
1. Choose a direct pool or a curve launch
A direct CLMM starts at a selected price and is funded through liquidity positions. A curve launch begins with real inventory and a configured virtual-reserve price path, then can graduate into a CLMM after its conditions are met.
Use a direct pool when you intend to choose the initial price and liquidity distribution. Read Curve launches when a staged market is appropriate. These paths have different funding and ownership implications.
2. Verify the assets and starting price
Confirm both mint addresses, decimals, remaining token authorities, and the quote asset. Current reserve support is classic SPL Token; Token-2022 reserve assets are not supported.
Review the displayed price in an explicit direction, such as units of quote token per base token. The integration must account for mint order and decimals when encoding it. A starting price is a configuration choice, not evidence of an external market price.
For a direct CLMM, decide which ranges you will fund and whether the initial market will have liquidity around the starting price. An initialized pool with no usable liquidity cannot fill ordinary trades.
3. Decide the fees and rules
| Setting | Decision to make |
|---|---|
| Trading fee and ceiling | What trades may cost, including any permitted dynamic fee |
| LP share | What portion of the post-protocol remainder is allocated to LPs |
| Beneficiaries | Which fixed recipients receive configured shares |
| Tick spacing | Which position boundaries the pool supports |
| Optional hook | Which policies and operations the hook controls |
The current fee shares and beneficiary recipients are fixed when the pool is created. Verify addresses and allocation before signing. The Pool 6 source increment reserves 10% of trading fees before this split. Review Fees and revenue for its validation status and claim rules.
A pool without a hook is valid. If you attach one, understand its permissions, authority, supported operations, and withdrawal conditions rather than relying on a policy name alone.
4. Create, fund, and verify
Review account deposits and network fees separately from the assets intended for liquidity. After creation confirms, verify the pool's assets, initial price, fee configuration, and hook binding. Then open and fund the intended position.
Creating a pool does not imply automatic inclusion in aggregators or discovery interfaces. Confirm actual integration availability independently. Developers can continue with token and pool creation.
